Accessibility statement

Our commitment

milinn is meant for every co-parent, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard only, rely on voice control, or need larger text and higher contrast. We want the website and the app to work well for you, and we're actively working to get there.

Conformance target

Our target is WCAG 2.1, Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C. WCAG 2.1 AA is also the standard most commonly referenced for accessibility under U.S. law.

This is a target we are actively working toward, not a claim that every page fully conforms today. We review the site against these guidelines on an ongoing basis and fix issues as we find them.

What we've done

Measures already in place on milinn.app include:

  • A "Skip to main content" link for keyboard and screen reader users
  • Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, not just default browser styling
  • Semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a logical heading structure on each page
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images and screenshots
  • Full keyboard operability, including the mobile navigation menu, which also closes on the Escape key
  • Support for reduced-motion preferences, animations are minimized when your device is set to reduce motion
  • Native, screen-reader-friendly markup for expandable content like FAQ answers

Known gaps

We know of specific areas that don't yet meet our WCAG 2.1 AA target, and we're tracking them:

  • Some text and background color combinations fall short of the required contrast ratio in a few places
  • Our archived Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages, which preserve prior legal-document versions verbatim for the historical record, do not follow the same heading structure as the current versions

If you run into a barrier that isn't listed here, please tell us, see Feedback below.

The milinn app

This statement covers the milinn.app website. The iOS and Android apps are built against the same accessibility target and use platform-native accessibility APIs (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android). If you find an access issue in the app, the same contact channel below applies.

Feedback

If you have trouble accessing any part of the website or app, or you have suggestions for improving accessibility, contact us at support@help.milinn.app. Please include the page or screen you were on, what happened, and what assistive technology you were using, so we can reproduce and fix the issue. We aim to respond within 24 hours.
