How-to

Scan a receipt

Snap a receipt, know the scan limits, and reattach a photo if it did not stick.

Scan a receipt to prepare the store, amount, and date for your review. Check the suggested details before saving; extraction can make mistakes.

Snap a receipt

  1. Open milinn and choose to add an expense from a receipt.
  2. Take a photo of the full receipt, or pick one from your library.
  3. Check the store, amount, and date milinn filled in.
  4. Fix any field that looks wrong, then save.

Scan limits

AI scans are limited by plan. The app shows how many you have left.

  1. Free includes 3 successful AI receipt scans once per account.
  2. Pro includes 50 successful AI receipt scans per rolling 30 days.
  3. If you are out of scans, type the expense by hand. See Free vs Pro.

Reattach a photo

Sometimes an expense saves without the photo attached.

  1. Open the expense that is missing the receipt.
  2. Choose to add or replace the receipt photo.
  3. Save again and confirm the picture is on that expense.
